The 3rd Pillar in 2018
First of all, the PilierSuisse team wishes you all the best for the new year 2018.
In 2018 few changes took place for the 3rd Pillar, the tax deductions of 3rd Pillar 3A remain unchanged compared to 2017, so we remain at:
- CHF 6'768.- Deductible for employees.
- CHF 33'840.- Deductible for the self-employed.
In Geneva, tax deductions for 3rd Pillar B also remain the same:
- Single person: CHF 2'217.-
- Married/registered partners: CHF 3'326.-
- Per child: CHF 907.-
In 2018, the 3rd Pillar technical rate set by FINMA remains at 0.25%.
This rate is certainly very low, but new hybrid solutions have emerged among insurance companies that allow insurance companies to have a guaranteed rate and returns ranging from 3% to 8% depending on the solutions. So rest assured, the 3rd Pillar remains a very advantageous investment in 2018.
